Gary Wayne Hanna, 67, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. Gary was born on April 4, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas to F.J. and Dortha Hanna. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas and after graduating from Wall High School, he attended Angelo State University. Gary married his high school sweetheart, Susan Hanna on September 7,1974 in Robert Lee, Texas. They shared 43 amazing years together and raised two sons, Christopher, and Chad.

Gary owned Gift Gallery for 19 years. He loved his customers and the many people he worked with who he considered family. Most of all Gary was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his time to his family. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and had a love for landscaping.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, F.J. Hanna; his wife Susan Hanna; and his father-in-law, Pete Prentice.
Gary is survived by his sons, Christopher Hanna and his wife Lindsey of San Angelo, Texas; Chad Hanna of Lawn, Texas; his grandchildren Gracelyn, Sterlyn, Colson, Collyn, Stratton and Baine Hanna; his mother, Dortha Hanna of Lawn, Texas and mother-in-law Emmalee Prentice of Abilene, Texas; his brother John Hanna and wife Charolette of Coleman, Texas; sister, Kathy Miller and husband Rex of Lawn, Texas; Roger Hanna and wife Jan of Stephenville, Texas. Sister-In-law Connie Prentice of Abilene, Texas; brother-in-law, Richard Prentice and wife Bobbie of Drummond, Oklahoma; Sister-in-law, Rhonda Alderman of Abilene, Texas. And many nieces and nephews, other family members and special family friends that he held close to his heart.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 25, 2021 with family present from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday April 26, 2021 at the Robert Lee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Sherwood Way.
