Monte Neil Womack Nordin of San Angelo, Texas went to meet his Lord Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his mother Wanda Young, of San Angelo, Texas; father, Nathan Nordin Sr. of Independence, Louisiana; maternal grandparents, RL and Thelma Young, of San Angelo, Texas; and nephew, Curtis Winemiller, of San Angelo, Texas.
Monte is survived by his wife of 33-years, Francine Nordin of San Angelo, Texas; son Berek and partner, Amanda Nordin of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Devin Nordin and granddaughters Elena Nordin-Jessen and NovaLeia Ledbetter of San Angelo, Texas; step mother, Cherryel Nordin of Independence, Louisiana; brother, Nathan Nordin Jr. and wife, Susan Nordin, and two nephews Peyton Nordin and Logan Nordin, of Covington, Louisiana; sister, Kimberly Blankenship and nephew, Aaron Blankenship, of San Angelo, Texas; sister, Sabrina and husband Gregg Ashcraft, nephew, Elijah Ashcraft, and nieces Lydia and Corrie Ashcraft of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and aunt Donna Neal and great niece, Heather Richoux of Independence, Louisiana.
Born in Pasadena, Texas on March 20, 1962, Monte spent his early years in east Texas “helping” his Papaw with the family business. Even as a child he was a cornerstone of his family helping to raise his younger siblings. Always the charmer, Monte amassed an army of loyal friends and extended family. His lifelong passion for fishing, collecting knives, and building skateboards was surpassed only by his affection for his granddaughters. Holding the memory of his larger than life personality will help fill the void left by his unexpected passing.
The family is overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and financial support they have received during this trying time. Words cannot express their gratitude.
A celebration of life will be held on April 18, 2021 at The Concho Pearl Icehouse from 4pm-8pm. The eulogy will be at 6pm to be livestreamed via Facebook for those who cannot attend in person.

I knew Monte since Jr. High school. I always loved and cherished our friendship. He was one of the best! A good friend, father, husband and grandfather. He loved everyone who loved him. RIP my dear friend, not good bye, just until we meet again. Your family is in my thoughts and my prayers.

I met Monte at Glenn when we were 13.
He and I stayed friends through all these years.

He was so proud of the family he and Francine built. He just posted a week ago about how lucky he was to marry "the most beautiful woman I ever met, raised two great children, and have two special granddaughters."

I told him:
Not luck Monte; Intelligence. Effort. Love. Perseverance. Compassion. You had this the whole time. It was/is in your heart.

Every word is true. So glad there was time to tell him.
Monte was the kindest, truest heart ever to exist.

Deep sympathy and sincere condolences to Francine and family.
