Lori Sue Goheen stepped into the arms of her Savior on March 21, 2021. She was born June 20, 1961 in Williston, North Dakota and spent her life in a Odessa and San Angelo, Texas. Her parents were Leslie and Irene Goheen, who preceded her in death. Sue, "Magoo" to her friends, was a longtime bartender in Odessa, ultimately owning both Magoo's Saloon and the Cotton Patch Lounge. Sue created a place for community and connection in her bars, a place where people knew they would be loved and fed, both physically and emotionally. Sue also loved children and was fiercely protective of them. She followed in her parents' example and became a neighborhood grandmother; the kids in her life knew they could go to her for safety and love. She made every event, birthday, and holiday as special as possible with her creativity and flair for party planning and organization. Sue loved to craft and bring her ideas to life, then share her creations with others. Above all, she loved her only daughter and her two amazing grandchildren. We knew, Mom, how proud you were of us. Sue lived a generous, big-hearted life and her legacy of love will be felt by everyone she touched. Sue is survived by her daughter, Courtney Goff and husband William, grandchildren Brandon and Lindy Goff, her beloved border collie Harley, her brother, Fred Watkins and wife Debbie, and the many many others for whom she was a second mom and loyal friend. The family would like to thank Cindy Carlson, Liz Dutton, and Debi Hinton especially for their amazing support during this time, and for so many others who have reached out. We are eternally grateful.
