Franklin Neville Sears, 81, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was born on September 9, 1939 in Watseka, Illinois to Olive Coe and Stanley Otto Sears.

He joined the Air Force in 1958 before retiring as an E8. He was stationed in Scotland, California and Vietnam on both B-58 and B-52 flight crews for SAC. Frank was proud to serve his country and truly believed in doing Government Service. He was also stationed in Fort Worth where he met and married the love of his life, his wife Emma Jo Benson. After retiring, he owned several businesses. He loved helping others and spending his time with charity work with Meals for the Elderly and the Veterans Home in Big Spring. Frank also looked forward to weekly breakfast with his veteran friends. Spending time and traveling with his granddaughter also brought him much joy.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Quentin Sears, Thelma Shane, Juanita Collins, Dorothy Sapp and Calvin Sears.
Franklin is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Jo Sears of Carlsbad; one son, Michael Sears of El Paso; one daughter Jennifer Sears and husband Mil Sneler of Okinawa, Japan; granddaughter, Claire Sears Sneler of Okinawa; his siblings, Paul Sears of Oregon, Beverly Leacher of Florida, Nancy Bruno of Illinois, Stan Sears of Colorado, John Sears of Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Sherwood Way.
