Kevin Roe, 60, passed away on March 18, 2021 from complications of an unexpected heart attack and stroke. Kevin was born in Robert Lee, Texas on February 19, 1961 to Billy Wayne and Dolores Roe. Kevin met the love of his life, Tammy, while attending classes at Angelo State University. They exchanged vows on June 25, 1983, and had three beautiful children, Shelby, Lindsey, and Chase. Kevin and Tammy built a home in Robert Lee, where they raised their children, and then moved to Nemo, Texas in 2010.

Kevin worked in the oil and gas industry for 37 years and developed lifelong friendships. He was a mentor both in industry and in life. He prioritized family over work, found joy in life, and kept it as simple as possible. He made an impact on many people, and his community, while being an advocate for students by serving on the school board of Robert Lee ISD. He was often referred to as the “coolest dad” by every kid which made it easy for him to become the greatest Popi to his grandchildren, Addison (9), Brooklyn (4), and Bryant (1). Kevin kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. He was the life of the party, a friend to all, one of a kind, and still doing backflips off the back of boats at the age of 56.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Tammy; children Shelby (Addison), Lindsey (Allen), and Chase (Reno); grandchildren Addison, Brooklyn, and Bryant; and parents Billy Wayne and Dolores. He was preceded in death by grandparents Bill and Inez Roe, and Buster and Helen Jones.

Funeral Services will be held at Robert Lee Methodist Church on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 2:00 pm, followed by a celebration of his life. Please dress casually at KROE’s request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Robert Lee.

Kevin was a good man with a good heart. There are many good things I could say about KRoe so l will choose this one. He was genuine. In the world today finding a genuine person is worth more than riches. Kevin paid a compliment to me after a Christmas program in which I sang " O Holy Night " with Buck on harmony. He said " it brought tears to my eyes ." I will always remember that and not because of my ego but because it came from a genuine person. Rest in peace my brother. We will see you later.

Mike Bagwell was remembering when he & Kirk & Kevin & Billy Wayne we’re out at Billy Wayne’s ranch. Billy Wayne told Kevin & Kirk to go get Buster’s old truck. Then, Billy Wayne looked up and here comes Buster’s truck with 6 year old Kirk driving and Kevin driving a truck behind. Kevin said, We’ll, Kirk said he could drive . Mike was remembering that Kevin went with him and Billy Wayne fishing in Guerrero, Mexico 2 times. They all had a great time ! Cristie Bagwell

Sharing in your sadness as you remember Kevin. I worked with Kevin at Williams. Kevin always had something funny to say, to make people laugh, and to brighten everyone's day. When he would talk about Tammy / his children / his grandchildren, his face would light up, had an ear to ear smile, and so happy to share. He will be missed by many! My deepest sympathy to Tammy and family.

Tammy Roe Posted at 11:12am

Thank you, Jennette, for your kind words. And Kevin always spoke fondly of you.
