Norman was born on May 1, 1937 to Gordon Lee and Betty Aline (Seal) Weathford. He grew up ‘out on the farm’ in Veribest. He attended San Angelo schools and was active in extracurricular activities including baseball, 4H and even the student safety council.
Never one to sit idly by he was an avid hobbyist. In his younger years Norman was a minor league baseball player and golden glove boxer. Throughout his life he excelled in and enjoyed playing golf, baseball and fishing. He enjoyed his many globetrotting trips but most especially loved traveling to Las Vegas.
Norman especially loved coaching, watching and rooting for his children at all their athletic events. His proudest achievement in life was when he earned the title of Paw-Paw. Upon hearing his softly deep voice his grand babies were immediately as captivated with him as he was with them.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and only brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores of 37 years; sons Rory Weatherford, Ross Weatherford and Tommy Evans of San Angelo; son James Weatherford of Idaho; Daughter Rhonda Kaye Norton of San Angelo; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 11:00am on Monday, February 1, 2021.
