Lynn Doris Smith gained her angel wings on January 9, 2021. Her battle with dementia is over she was 87 years old.
She was born on April 14,1933 to Josephine Grace Landers Varnadore and Henry Clay Varnadore. She attended school in Robert Lee where she competed in basketball and volleyball. She graduated in 1951 and married James Royce Smith in 1952.
She lived all of her life in Coke County except for the last 8 years in Tom Green County at the New Haven Memory Care Facility. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her She loved her family and friends with all of her heart even when she couldn’t remember people she was always full of laughter and wanted to hold your hand when you talked to her. She leaves a huge hole in our hearts that we will try to fill with our memories of family reunions and her competitive spirit and her cooking, her rolls were the best!!!
Lynn Doris is preceded in death by her husband, James Royce Smith her parents, Grace Landers Varnadore and Henry Clay Varnadore. Four brothers, Clell Varnadore, William Varnadore, JCue Varnadore and one sister, O’Nita Scott.
Lynn Doris leaves behind James Royce Smith,Jr. he resides in Grand Prairie, Tx with his wife Barbara. Debra Lynn Gleghorn residing with her husband Shane in Ballinger Tx. Edwin Smith in San Angelo Tx with his wife Charmaine Noal Smith in San Angelo Tx with his wife Kristi.
She leaves 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
