On January 2, 2021, Debbie Jean (Harr) Walls was welcomed with open arms by our Lord into Heaven.
Debbie was born on March 8, 1956, to Charles “Mickey” and Jean Harr in Mission, Texas. A digestive disorder almost took her away during her first week, but she had been born with the strength of a fighter. She carried that fighting spirit throughout her life.
Debbie married the love of her life, Jerry Gene Walls, on June 26, 1976. They lived in Corpus Christi before moving to Houston. Jerry transferred to San Angelo in 1982. They made their home there and decided to remain there after retirement.
Debbie accepted Jesus as her Savior early in life. She was a devout Christian who loved studying God’s Word and socializing with other Christians. She and her husband were faithful church members as well as dedicated members of the Gideons organization.
Debbie had a wonderful career with a San Angelo accounting firm. She also volunteered her accounting skills for family, friends, and several organizations.
In addition to Jerry, Debbie is survived by two sisters - Jo Harr and D’Ann Craft (husband Rick), one brother - Jay Harr (wife Mindi), and her beloved nieces and nephews - Caitlin Craft, Alex Harr, Tasha Harr, Kyle Craft, and Casey Craft. Many others will continue to miss her including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, at 10:00 am at College Hills Baptist Church in San Angelo. Family members will be available for visitation at Shaffer Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 5, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Shaffer Funeral Home is located at 1939 Sherwood Way in San Angelo. Debbie will be buried next to her parents in Cherokee, Texas, but there will be no gravesite service. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Sherwood Way.
For those who so desire, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of San Angelo.
