Jim (Hoot) Gibson was one of a kind. He is survived by the love of his life, Avelia Gonzales and her Daughter, Racheal who lovingly cared for him these past few years; Son, Mike Gibson and wife Hazel; Son, Terry Gibson and wife Mary; Daughter, Deena Alley; Daughter Charlotte Gibson; and Daughter, Lauree Dehner and Husband John; An abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who he loved dearly and sought to teach with stories and tales. He was dedicated and loyal to employers with over 20 years of service to his first love, law enforcement; beginning with the Highway Patrol Cadet School, later to become a Texas Ranger and then serve the Narcotics Division of the Brownwood Police Department . Free time was given to family, ranching and horses; these times were always full of joy for him and those around him. A story-teller, joker, prankster, artist and hero to many. He loved cooking on campfire or stove , and you better taste it before you said you didn’t like it. He will be missed by all and loved forever.
