Gwendolyn (Gwen) Ann Neill passed away on February 2, 2021 at 4:30 am at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, Texas. Gwen was born on December 19, 1944 in San Angelo. She graduated San Angelo Central High School in 1963. Over her life Gwen worked for Ethicon Inc., San Angelo Sheriff’s Dept., Mooney Aircraft of Kerrville, Veribest Cattle Feeders, MHMR Concho Valley and SAMS Club.
Gwen retired in 2012 and resided at Christian Village apartments where she had many cherished friends. She loved watching sports, walking her dog Lola and spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gwen is preceded in death by her parents Joseph “Red” Neill, Phoebe Hammack and Eddie Hammack, siblings: D.K. Neill, Marlin Neill, Raydean Nelson, Royce Hammack and Don Hammack.
Survivors include – daughters: Tonia Blackwell and husband Ken of Marlin Texas, Angie Cathey and husband John of Water Valley, Texas and Christine Berberek and husband Robert of Boerne, Texas; sisters Barbara Stone and brother-in-law John of San Angelo and Doris Gandy of San Angelo; sister-in-law Brenda Vallandingham of San Angelo; grandchildren: Stacey Weber of Temple, Stephen Taylor of Marlin, Stephanie Taylor of Gatesville, Joseph Blackwell of Marlin, Jessie Cathey of San Angelo, Connor Berberek, Ryan Berberek and Rowan Berberek of Boerne; great-grandchildren: James Weber Jr. and Sophia Weber of Temple, Hannah Cuellar and Levi Cuellar of Gatesville, Avery Blackwell and Rylee Blackwell of Marlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Gwen’s life will take place at First United Methodist Church in San Angelo (37 E Beauregard) on February 27, 2021 at 11:00 am (face masks required). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and MHMR Concho Valley (MHMRCV.org).
