Kay was born in Ranger Texas to Vernon and Lavern Garret on November 21,1951, she grew up being the baby sister to Wayne, Glenda and Sue.
In 1965 she gave birth to her first son, Randy Dewayne Williams. Shortly after she gave birth to Gary Michael Williams. She strived to raise her boys the best she could. She attended Beauty School in 1972. In February 1977 she met a man that she thought she could get rid of until one day he brought reinforcements to her door. His son, 5 years old, and his daughter 3 years old, begging for her and her boys to go skating with them. From that day a new family was born. A love that surpassed blood and circumstances. On July 17th, 1977 Kay Married Jim Dalton Broyles and took into her heart John Allen, Deirdra Denise and Bernadette Michelle. With patience and grace, she and Jim raised this family of mischievous misfits. Through joys, trials, laughter and sadness, she stuck by us. Just when she thought she was child free here came round two. She was blessed by her first grandson Michael Dewayne Williams and four years later another grandson Christopher Shea Williams. They were her new-found joy. She loved these boys. They were her ray of sunshine. she was given her first granddaughter Lindsey Denise Green and in a flash was another granddaughter Chelsea Rose Broyles and in no more than a breath came still another granddaughter Leigha Nichole Green. Let the party begin. The fun she had with the grandbabies was the best! She watched them grow into fine young people and what do you know the shows not over, folks. Another granddaughter, Raelynn Kay Marie Williams. A brief moment later, Blakely Ann Renee Williams. She was enjoying being a MeeMaw when her crown grew another set of jewels. She had a great granddaughter, Aliceia Hope Tanguma, and another granddaughter, Savannah Grace Evitt. Then, completing the royal court was great grandson, Carlos Thompson, Jr.
She mourned the loss of her Dad in 1987 and her mother in 1992. But her most heartbreaking loss was that of her son, Gary Michael, in 2001. She was grief stricken with the loss of her sister, Glenda, and her brother, Wayne.
She knew the many blessings God bestowed upon her. She never took her days for granted.
