Obituary for William Elmer Swift

William Elmer Swift
SAN ANGELO – Bill Swift went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2018 from his home in Miles Tx on Father’s Day. He was under the care of Hospice of San Angelo since December 5, 2016. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the funeral home located at 8009 Hwy 87 North in Grape Creek with family present to receive visitors from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Shaffer Funeral Home’s Pioneer Chapel. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.
Bill retired from Goodyear Proving Grounds after 35 years of service and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miles. Barney Swift and Mattie Swift his parents and loving grandparents went before him.
He is survived by siblings, Tedd Swift and wife Karen from Odessa, Tx, Angie Brooks from San Angelo, Tx, youngest brother Rick Swift and wife Vicki from Odessa, Tx; daughter, Sandra Swift of Miles, Tx, step daughter, Virginia Cravens and husband of Austin, Tx and stepson Russel Turner of San Angelo, Tx; grandchildren, Derek Swift and wife Addielee of Grape Creek, grandchildren Jewel , Shallie, and Eathen; step grandchildren of San Angelo, Tx Courtney Clark, Brandon and Brittany Craig, Aaron, Crystal, and Jackson Turner. He also leaves behind many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
My dad had a wonderful life of 76 years and he will be truly missed.
