Benny, fondly known as Papa, was born in Ben Wheeler, Texas on October 17, 1931. He was 1 of 9 children born to George and Rubye Jenkins.
Benny joined the Air Force when he was 18. While stationed in Edinburgh, Scotland he met and fell in love with Maude (Terry) Yule. They were married in Edinburgh on December 29, 1953.

Benny and Terry were members of St Luke United Methodist Church.
Benny and Terry had a great gift of hospitality. Their home was known and cherished as ‘The Fun House’. It was always full of their children and grandchildren. There was always something cooking for family and friends. Anyone and everyone were welcome at their home. Every summer you could find the grandkids, neighbors, and friends swimming, playing arcade games and eating. Many, many fond memories were made there.
Benny and Terry were married for 66 years. When Terry became ill, Benny became her sole caregiver for the last five years of her life. They could be seen throughout San Angelo eating at restaurants and attending their great grandchildren’s sporting events.
