Obituary for Bobby Joe Gulley

Bobby Joe Gulley
Bobby Joe Gulley, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Visitation will be held all day Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the funeral home with family present 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Robert Lee Baptist Church officiated by Pecan Baptist Pastor William Ray Hood with interment to follow in Sanco Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Bob was born to Arthur Leroy and Josey Mae Gulley on November 8, 1934. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1952 and later graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1960.
He married June McKinley on December 30, 1961. Their son, Aubrey Lynn was born in 1962.
Bob was a self-employed rancher and operated Meadow Creek Ranch around Sanco and in Callahan County with June. He coached pee-wee little league baseball and basketball. Bob was involved with the church group at Immanuel Baptist Church and was proud that he took them on a trip for the play offs to Tulsa, OK. He was a photographer for Abilene Reporter News to support himself through college and processed his own film.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, June Gulley.
Bob is survived by his son, Lynn Gulley of Robert Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coke County Livestock Association, P.O. Box, 555, Robert Lee, TX 76945.
